Enterprise Al spent two years in experimentation: pilots, proofs of concept, innovation budgets with loose accountability. That phase is over.

Al costs now influence budget reviews, pricing decisions, product investments, and board discussions. Across 396 organizations surveyed in April and May 2026, Al adoption has pulled away from Al cost visibility. Al programs are running on a financial picture that is, at best, incomplete and, at worst, misleading.
